So far I have been to Warsaw, Cracow, Bratislava and am now in Budapest in this infamous corner of the world. My opinions very greatly from place to place. As a backpacker, I would not suggest to others to go to warsaw as there is really nothing to do there and the only impressive thing is that thier `Old Town´ is only about 30 years old (the nazis levelled it and after the war the poles rebuilt it exactly as it was). The place was also completely empty...I checked in to a 6 bedroom dorm, and I had 6 beds to myself...quite depressing.

Cracow...now thats a different story, that place is backpackers heaven. Loads of clubs, cosy underground bars, beautiful buildings and out of this world girls. If that is not enough, just a few kilometers out of the medieval capital of poland there are some of the most impressive sights I have personally ever seen: Auschwitz (and the horrendously large Birkenau), and the very very (very) impressive salt mines (which are exactly that...but impressive).

Bratislava...yeah its nice, a few good bars and some pretty buildings, but just outside the historic center rise legions of towering estate blocks and factories that bring you down to earth about the standard of life in this country (slovakia) because the historic center can be very decieving and lead you into thinking that these people live in a fairly land (like stockholm).

Budapest: I havnt been here too long so all I can say is that its really hot and that the `For Sale´bar is great.
