festival- a few days before the festival of colours (holi) marks the Brij
festival. This festival is celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm in the city of Bharatpur. The festival is
celebrated to honor the endless love between Lord Krishna and Radha. The
Raslila dance performed by the people here is the main attraction of this
festival and it is this dance that depicts the love between Lord Krishna and
Radha. On the eve of this festival the entire city of Bharatpur resonates with folk songs and
happiness seems to envelope the entire city. The people dress in colorful
costumes and perform the wonderful Raslila dance. As the festival o colours
lingers just days away from this festival the people splash colours at each
other welcoming the festival of colors, Holi.
The Desert Festival- celebrated every year in the month of February this festival is a mosaic of colour, fun and traditional display of items. Here one can see really long mustached Rajasthani men who come to participate in the Moustache competition.
